Welcome to MySTEAM Lab
Where Learning Meets Innovation
A Before & After School Care ‘STEAM’ program

Our Mission
MySTEAM Lab Inc. was born from months of meaningful collaboration and dialogue within the Bearspaw community, shaped by a shared commitment to providing a high-quality, local before-and-after school program. Rooted in the voices and values of families in the area, the program is built by the community, for the community—offering learning experiences that inspire curiosity, spark excitement, and support each child’s growth beyond the classroom.
My Steam
At MySTEAM Lab, we believe that learning should feel like play—and that play should be a powerful way to spark curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving. That’s why we go beyond STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) to proudly embrace STEAM, adding the Arts to create a richer, more holistic, and developmentally appropriate experience for children.
What makes our approach different?
- Play-Based & Hands-On Learning
- Sparking Innovation Through the Arts
- Beyond the Classroom
- Age-Specific, Child-Centered Spaces
At MySTEAM Lab, we’re not just preparing kids for academic success—we’re nurturing future innovators, creators, and collaborators who are excited to learn and confident to explore.

- Important Note: GOA Funding Status for New KG Programs
On May 15, 2025, the Ministry of Children’s Services announced that newly licensed child care programs may not be eligible for the Government of Alberta (GOA) affordability grant funding, due to the province nearing its cap on supported spaces.
This sudden announcement has created significant uncertainty for newly launched programs like ours, and for families who were relying on the funding to make Kindergarten more affordable.
If the GOA funding is not approved for our new program, we have worked closely with the Bearspaw Council to establish a sustainable, community-supported KG fee — still below comparable programs elsewhere. We are committed to meeting families where they are, while delivering a reliable, quality, and affordable solution for childcare needs—centered around STEAM learning, play, and community connection.
Should the GOA successfully renegotiate or extend the affordability funding for new programs in fall, the regulated fee will remain without disruption.
Meet Our Team
At MySTEAM Lab, we are proud to be building a passionate and talented team of qualified educators who bring creativity, care, and commitment to every child’s learning journey. Our team is handpicked and actively trained to lead each age-specific cohort with empathy, energy, and expertise. We invite you to meet these inspiring individuals at our June Open House—where you’ll see firsthand the heart and dedication behind the program.
Why Register Early?
Due to limited capacity and strong interest already coming in, families are encouraged to secure a spot early to avoid disappointment and ensure a smooth start in fall.
